What is the IPL® Photofacial Treatment Like?
The IPL® Photofacial treatment delivers pulses of light energy to the skin, breaking up pigments under the skin’s surface and stimulating collagen production. This treatment is typically well-tolerated by patients, although you may feel a stinging sensation on the skin as pulses of light are emitted. The IPL® Photofacial treatment usually takes less than 30 minutes.
Is There Downtime After an IPL® Photofacial?
There is no downtime required after an IPL® Photofacial, although you may notice that the skin is slightly red or sensitive after treatment. These are common effects of treatment, and usually fade within a day or two. You will be able to return to work and other normal activities immediately following your appointment.

What Kind of Results Can I Expect from an IPL® Photofacial?
The results from an IPL® Photofacial can take a few weeks to develop. It takes time for the body to respond to treatment and increase collagen production. The results should become visible within a month, gradually improving over the following months. You may notice results after your first treatment session, but we typically recommend a series of three to five treatment sessions for optimal results.
