What is a PRP Therapy?

Our blood is full of platelets that contain growth factors. These growth factors stimulate healing and growth wherever it is needed. PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) Therapy collects a concentrated amount of these platelets and develops platelet-rich plasma, or PRP. PRP  Therapy is a natural non surgical solution to treating under eye circles and bags. We extract the patient's own blood and separate it from  the plasma which contains the valuable collagen and growth factors from the rest of the blood's components.

This can be combined with microneedling, which further strengthens and rejuvenates the skin. As a result, patients can effectively address wrinkles, fine lines, sun damage, scars, and other cosmetic concerns. This is often referred to as the "Vampire Facial".

How Much Does PRP Therapy Cost?

The cost of your PRP facelift will depend on a variety of factors, including the extent of treatment needed to produce your desired results. During your consultation, Dr. Austin will assess your treatment goals in order to develop a personalized treatment plan. At this point, we will be able to provide you with the full cost of treatment. For your convenience, we accept many forms of payment and also offer flexible financing options through CareCredit®, PatientFi – Click here to apply and Prosper® Healthcare Lending.

What is the PRP Therapy Like?

The first step of a PRP facelift is collecting blood. Your blood will be taken just like you were having bloodwork done. Once collected, the blood is placed in a centrifuge, which is a machine that separates the components of the blood to develop PRP. Once the PRP is obtained, it is injected into various areas of the face. This process is combined with microneedling to optimize results. A PRP facelift usually takes about one hour to perform.

What Can I Expect After My PRP Treatment?

After your PRP treatment, you may notice some swelling, redness, or sensitivity in the treated areas. These effects are common, and usually fade within a few days. Although you may notice some initial results, the full results will not be visible until a few weeks after treatment. Once the skin heals and the body begins to implement collagen and enhance the skin, you will enjoy gradual, continued cosmetic benefits. There is little to no downtime required after a PRP Therapy, but most patients choose to spend the rest of the day at home to rest and allow the skin to heal.
