With laser skin resurfacing, patients can eliminate cosmetic skin concerns and imperfections to reveal the beautiful, healthy skin that lies beneath. At 7 Seas Medical Spa, we offer this treatment to patients living in Columbia, Evans, Augusta, and the surrounding areas of Georgia.
What is Laser Skin Resurfacing?
Laser skin resurfacing is a cosmetic technique that uses controlled laser energy to exfoliate the outermost layers of skin and stimulate collagen production. This is a great solution for patients who are looking to eliminate any superficial cosmetic concerns, or for patients who are looking to get the deeper rejuvenation benefits from enhanced collagen production. At 7 Seas Medical Spa, we use both the AcuPulse™ MultiMode SuperPulse CO2 Laser and the Pearl® laser by Cutera® for laser skin resurfacing, which allows us to address the following concerns:
- Scars and stretch marks
- Age spots, discoloration, and hyperpigmentation
- Sun damage
- Loose skin
- Bags or sagging skin under the eyes
- Wrinkles, lines and folds
How Much Does Laser Skin Resurfacing Cost?
The cost of your laser tattoo removal treatment will depend on a variety of factors, including the extent of treatment needed to produce your desired results. During your consultation, Dr. Austin will assess your treatment goals in order to develop a personalized treatment plan. At this point, we will be able to provide you with the full cost of treatment. For your convenience, we accept many forms of payment and also offer flexible financing options through CareCredit® and Prosper® Healthcare Lending.
What is the Laser Skin Resurfacing Treatment Like?
The first step in the laser skin resurfacing treatment is cleansing the skin. Then, we will apply a topical solution that numbs the skin to minimize any discomfort during treatment. Next, we’ll use a handheld laser device to apply laser energy evenly across the face, carefully exfoliating imperfections and damaged skin layer by layer. The laser skin resurfacing treatment takes about one hour.
What is the Recovery Like After Laser Skin Resurfacing?
After laser skin resurfacing, the skin will be red, dry, and sensitive for a few weeks. During this time, the skin may peel, and it will be especially sensitive to the sun. Although you will be able to perform all of your normal activities, we recommend wearing sunscreen and avoiding excessive sun exposure for a month or two in order to prevent damaging the skin.
When Will I Notice Results from Laser Skin Resurfacing?
Once the skin heals, the results from laser skin resurfacing will begin to become visible. Most patients will notice results within a few weeks of treatment as their side effects start to fade. These results will continue to improve as collagen production increases and is used to strengthen and rejuvenate the skin. Patients typically achieve full results from laser skin resurfacing two to three months after their treatment.
